The claim for an individual’s right to have painless death emphasized by euthanasia activists clearly defies the norms of the sanctity of life. Euthanasia seems to continue to elicit a great extent of controversy even if it succeeds to be widely accepted across the continents. But it will not be against the ideals of modernity, which entails that the society progresses more forcefully amid conflicts. Euthanasia, as a product and part of modern life, will continue to shape people’s attitude towards good life and good death over the years to come.
